Governor Stitt Sign Bill In Recognition of Comanche Code Talkers

On July 29th, the Governor of Oklahoma Kevin Stitt signs House Bill 2311 at the State Capitol.

House Bill 2311 gives recognition to the Comanche Code Talkers. The bill will allow a five mile stretch of Highway 5 to be named “Comanche Code Talker Trailway.”

Highway 5 runs through the city of Walters in Cotton County.

Those in attendance of the signing were: Mayor Roberta Ellis of Walters; members of the Comanche Indian Veteran Association (CIVA); CVIA Princess Trinity Ahtone; members of the Tabbytosavit family in honor of WWI Comanche Code Talker Samuel Tabbytosativ and George Red Elk son of WWII Comanche Code Talker Roderick Red Elk.
