Fourth of July Is Happening In Sultan Park

Fourth of July is coming and is happening Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Sultan Park.

With the COVID-19 going on so many were wandering if there was going to be any thing going on in Sultan Park this year.

The Walters Chamber of Commerce have been asked some questions. Here are some answers.

Question: Are we having fireworks this year? YES!

Question: Are we having games for the kids like previous years? YES!

Question: What games? Three-legged race, Sack Race, Seed Spitting, Horseshoes Tournament, Cornhole Tournament.

Question: What about turtle races and decorating contests? No.

Instead, we will have a pet parade! Dress up or decorate your pet and bring them out to the park and we will give prizes to the best decorated pets.

Question: What are we buying tickets to win this year? Since COVID-19 has had such an impact on our area financially, the Chamber of Commerce is not selling tickets this year. We will be giving tickets at the events and all who participate will have a chance to enter.

Question: What is the prize? The massive, supercolossal fireworks pack you have come to know and love. It has been donated to the Chamber of Commerce.

Question: Anything else different this year? Yes. We are working on having some type of food as well. Hot dogs, or hamburgers, or something like that.
