Cameron University’s Bill W. Burgess, Jr. Business Research Center will host a public forum on COVID-19 from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, at the Mary Lou and W. Carey Johnson Auditorium inside the Cynthia S. Ross Hall.
The forum will focus on discussing the current state of COVID-19 in Lawton and surrounding communities as well as how it affects family and professional lives, businesses, for-profit and non-profit organizations and educational institutions. COVID-19 first appeared in the USA about a year ago and continues to take a devastating toll on the heath of the people, the economy and practically all spheres of our lives. The availability of vaccines is providing a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel, but it will take time for enough people to be vaccinated before the tangible benefits are evident.
Panelists for the forum will include Mayor Stan Booker; Jennifer Ellis, President & CEO, Cosmetic Specialty Labs, Inc.; Jay Johnson, CEO, Duncan Regional hospital; Scott Michener, Chief Medical Officer of Comanche County Memorial Hospital; Brandie O’Conner, Regional Director of Oklahoma Department of Health; Dr. Krista Ratliff, President & CEO, Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce.
