The Walters Class of 1969 recently celebrated their 50th Class Reunion with a total of 30 classmates attending.
Festivities started off Thursday night with dinner at Bill’s Fish House in Waurika. After dinner the group met at Joe and Gayla Keeter’s beautiful home and backyard for homemade ice cream and cobbler.
Classmates toured the high school Friday night and met at the Cotton Electric Civic Room for dinner. Lots of visiting, laughs and reminiscing was enjoyed by all.
Deceased classmates were remembered with a video. The Class of ‘69 has lost 18 classmates since graduation.
Saturday the ladies started the day off with lunch at Medicine Park.
Saturday night ended the reunion with dinner at the Apache Banquet room in Lawton. A drawing was held for the Blue Devil picture, Jerry Adkison being the winner.
Special guests attending were Ronal Red Elk, Doug and Cindy Ade, Peggy Lee, and Janell Philpott.
Class of ‘69 sponsored a mural done by Bob Palmer at the high school. Classmates along with Walters Alumni and students helped with the mural.
Lots of visiting and memories were shared to make another great reunion! The Class of ‘69 has met every 5 years since graduation.
Plans were made to meet in 2 years to celebrate turning 70. Thanks to each one that helped make our 50th Reunion a Success!
