2019 Walters Christmas Parade

Official opening of the Christmas season with the arrival of Santa Clause happened on December 7, 2019 at the “Happy Birthday Jesus” Walters Annual Christmas Parade. The weather was great for holding the parade this year.

There were amazing lighted floats idling down Broadway. 1st Place Float – Snake Creek Leathers and Legacy Vets winner of the Non-Float.

All the beautiful lights and music helped get everyone in the Christmas Spirit. Walters Police, Cotton County Sheriff and deputies, fire truck with Walters Junior High School Cheerleaders aboard, and Santa arrived riding on the big Fire Truck; (not in order as appeared in parade) Honor Guard; Sue Hayes in her 1929 ModelT Ford; Star Casino; Singing Sensations; Miss Walters; Lawton Antique Auto Club; Cache Creek Tractor Club just to name a few of those that participated in the parade.

After the parade, the gazebo was alive with sparkling eyes and excitement as each child visited with Santa and received a sack of treats with the help of several Chamber Members. The treats were put together by Jennifer Carroll of Trade Winds Travel.

Thank you to all participants and volunteers in this year’s parade. Especially. It is important for the community to participate in activities in order to keep our small town alive. The parade was very successful and hopefully next year we can make it even bigger and better!
