October 5, 2019 Walters was the place to be for the Annual Walters Car Cruz and the City Wide Garage Sales.
The weather was a little iffy with a good cold front that came through on Saturday for the Car Cruz and for yard selling. By mid morning the sun came out with a smile and turned the day into a wonderful Fall Day!
The contenders for Queen: Jolie Davis; Raylee Sevier; Ashton Spence and River Coppick. Car Cruz Queen is River Coppick. These girls raised $2345.00. Winner of the 55’’ TV - Carl Dye A bunch of inflatables were furnished by Walters Church of the Nazarene for all the children. The vendors had a range of foods and a variety of objects to look at and buy.
There were several competitions to choose from: Car Hop Relay, Bubble Gum Blowing, Football Throw contest, Dance contest. It is so much fun to watch these contest. Everyone that participated in these contest had a great time. This year there was a Cozy Coupe Kids Car Show. There was music all day for everyone to enjoy.

Burnout results: Best of Show - Brian Fisher; 1st place - Jim Schweitzer; 2nd place - Lee Tahchawwickah; Crowd Pleaser - The Zombie Car, owners Ron and Phillip Cackey. All the cars and trucks put out a lot of smoke. The spectators all cheered for their favorite.

The night came to a close as vendors shut down, they commented that they had a wonderful time and made good money and many said see you next year!
