The Walters Chamber of Commerce board met on August 24, 2020 at Noon, in the Walters Public Library, located at 202 N. Broadway in Walters, Oklahoma. The meeting was called to order by Board President William McKay.
Board Members present were: Joi Bellamy, Benne Brewer, Sheri Davis, Wes Eidson, Jack Jacob, Stesha Kerr, William McKay, Gina Suson, Brantley Tillery and Wendy Zimmerman. Lacy Edgmon and Dawn Schilling were unable to attend.
Chamber member Kayla Williams (COTTON ELECTRIC) was also present.
Visitor present was: Kathy Fullington
The Board discussed and considered approval of reimbursements in the total amount of $827.25 to Jack Jacob, for one year’s payments for the Chamber’s Phone Bills and Web Page. A motion was made and approved to approve reimbursing Jack Jacob $827.25, payable out of the General Fund.
The Board discussed how the ICE CREAM FREEZE OFF went. All those involved stated that it went very well. It was determined that there will be a new category added next year, for MOST UNIQUE (or something like that). The Board also discussed and considered approval of reimbursement in the total amount of $200.00, payable to Joi Bellamy, for the Prize Monies awarded to the Ice Cream Freeze Off winners. A motion was made and approved to approve reimbursing Joi Bellamy, payable out of the General Fund.
Wes Eidson updated the board with progress for the CAR CRUZ, scheduled for October 3rd. He stated that everything was going according to schedule. There will be another CAR CRUZ Planning Meeting on Monday, Aug. 31st, @ 6:30 pm, at the Walters Public Library.
Regarding Advertising/Economic development, ABSOLUTE CAR CARE will be opening soon, on West Missouri, in Walters. Stesha Kerr, of COTTON BLOOM FLORIST, stated that there is a new Office complex opening close to her shop.
President William McKay declared the meeting adjourned. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be Monday, September 14th, at noon, at the Walters Public Library.
