Technically, there is no law on the books in Massachusetts that prohibits falling asleep at the wheel if you’re traveling in a self-driving car, according to Boston’s WBZTV. At least, that’s what the station’s news report claimed recently, according to the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. It seems that Dakota Randall was driving on the Mass Pike recently and spotted a Tesla on the road. As he passed the car he made a double take when he saw the driver and a passenger were apparently sound asleep. Randall told WBZ “it was just so bizarre that I just had to get it on video… They looked like they needed to go home and go to bed.”
