RANDLETT, Okla. — The Big Pasture FFA Chapter donated 16 no-sew fleece blankets to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
FFA members made the blankets as a service project for their November chapter meeting.
“I loved making the blankets,” said Miya White, Big Pasture FFA treasurer. “It was a lot of fun and it is nice to know they are going to a good cause. I hope the patients enjoy using them as much as we enjoyed making them.”
Big Pasture FFA members Taylor Gebhart, Jaden Gibson and Caleb Robinson delivered the blankets.
“The hospice center was excited about our donation, and we were excited to be there,” Gebhart said. “This was a really meaningful service project I was proud to be a part of.”
Melanie Van der Laan, Big Pasture FFA advisor, said the officers have been planning this project for several months.
“We had our officer retreat in May and the team decided they wanted to make as many blankets as possible as one of our service projects this year,” Van der Laan said. “I love how willing the students are to serve their community whenever they see a need.”
