Williams has lived here seven years...Foster Griffin has opened a new barber shop next door to Potter Cleaners this week...Miss Billie Ann Whitstone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whitstone of Temple, and Webster Lewallen, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Lewallen of Walters, were married Sunday, December 15, at the Methodist parsonage at Temple... Miss Ella Elliott, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Elliott of the Soldier Valley community, became the bride of Marion Musgrove, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Musgrove of the Soldier Creek community, Saturday, December 7...Miss Marjorie Smith andn Lonnie Youree were married Monday evening at Lawton. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Smith of the Lincoln Valley community, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Y. Youree of the Hulen community... Dear Santa, I want a wrist watch, car, truck, and some nuts, candy and fruit. Fred M. Steele was named worshipful master of Cache Valley Lodge No. 530, A.F. & A.M., at a meeting of members Monday night...Oklahoma’s newest dial telephone system will become operative in Walters Saturday morning, December 17, after a quick changeover from the manual system occurs at an undisclosed early morning hour. The old office will be “killed” by pulling the main discharge fuses. Four cables going into the old office will then be cut, and pins which have been inserted in all line connects in the new dial plant at 5th and California will be pulled to activate it. Then the dial system is in business. This entire operation will require approximately a minute...In observance of their golden wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence W. Rogers, Walters, will be honored by their children at an open house reception Sunday, December 18, at the home of their son, Lloyd (Bode) Rogers... Mr. and Mrs. Jerry R. Davis, Tulsa, have chosen the name Mike Allen for their son born November 28...Dear Santa, I am five years old and have been an awfully good girl. Please bring me a doll with some clothes, a house cleaning set, an iron, rocking chair and some candy. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Perry Persons, of Hastings, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, December 28. Perry Persons came with his parents to Oklahoma Territory in 1901. He and Miss Myrl Lisby were married in Tarrant county, Texas, December 23, 1920. They are retired farmers...A baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. Randy Clark, of Randlett, December 1, and named Adam Jerome. Maternal grandmother is Sadie Abbe, of Temple. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Clark, of Grandfield...Miss Tammy Eugenia Burns and Richard Scott Norman pledged wedding vows Friday, December 5 at the First United Methodist church in Walters. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Burns. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Athel Norman, all of Walters.

Rev. Roy M. Clayton, pastor of the First Baptist church, Marietta, for the past two years, has accepted a call of First Baptist church, Temple... Herbert Parks, 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Trix Parks, with several other Temple youths, were southwest of Templel Friday when a .22 pistol accidentally discharged with the slug striking young Parks in the right foot. He was taken to Bethania hospital in Wichita Falls where surgery was performed and a cast put on his foot..A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Don Carty, Hayward, Calif., and named Debra Denice. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jess Carty, Hayward. Paternal great-grandmother is Mrs. Tom Wilson, Temple.
