Everett Priddy, five miles east and four north of Walters, was injured Friday when a horse fell on him, rendering him unconscious. He was riding in his pasture when the animal’s feet slipped, and Priddy was thrown under the horse. He was taken to the home of Bill Kennedy. He was unconscious for two days...Miss Ruth Young and John Bailey were married Monday evening, October 7, at the home of Mr. Bailey’s sister, Mrs. Bill Barnett, at Lawton. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Young. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Bailey of the Valley View community, and is a painter and decorator, formerly operating the Bailey Paint shop...The marriage of Miss Faye Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Stevens of the Lone Star #246 community, and Ralph Hertzler, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Hertzler of the Union Valley community, was solemnized Thursday, October 10, at Cookietown...Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Williams are parents of a baby boy, Joe Thomas, born Tuesday, October 15.

George Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Powell arrived home Sunday from New York, where he has been stationed at an army base. Mr. Powell just recently received his discharge from the service...Dr. H.R. Corbett finds himself surrounded with a family of trophy winners in golf. Not only does his son, Raymond, cart home trophies from various tournaments, and has a hole in one to his credit, but it’s catching in the family. Now his wife has joined the trophy bracket. Playing in an invitational golf tournament for women at Westside in Lawton Tuesday, Mrs. Corbett had a medalist score of 45 strokes among players in all flights firing nine holes...Permission has been granted for Karen Hertzler, Walters high school homecoming football queen, to preside over half-time festivities Friday night, even though she has been ordered by doctors to her home for a period of from one to three months of rest for a rheumatic heart condition...Lt. Col. Maxey Silvey of Ft. Sill visited his cousin, Mrs. C.O. Wilson of Randlett, and Mr. Wilson Sunday night. Col. Silvey has just recently returned to the United States from a three year tour of duty in Rome, Italy.

The Guthrie Scottish Rite Body conferred 32nd degrees on 108 Oklahoma Masons, including John Wesley Penick and Denzil Raymond Underwood, of Randlett...Harold W. Gamblin, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Gamblin, of Walters, has been promoted to the rank of master sergeant in the U. S. Air Force. Sergeant Gamblin is an aircraft maintenance technician at Zaragoza Air Base, Spain...Miss Terry Lynn Epp and Monty Morgan Lee exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, September 27, in the Memorial Baptist church, in Tulsa. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Goodsell, of Tulsa. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Lee, of Tulsa...Miss Amy Fletcher was crowned Walters Homecoming Queen by co-captain Steve Shanks. Attendants were Miss Shelley Knightstep, escorted by John Ray, and Miss Jan Cowan, escorted by Eric Logan.
