Bob Allen, formerly of Hobart and Oklahoma City, is now employed as pilot for Joe Baldwin’s new Waco plane. Bob will make his home in Walters and will bring his personal ship here after it has received its complete check over in Oklahoma City. Allen is well known in aviation circles in Oklahoma. He has trained many students and has operated transport lines for several years...Melvin McDavid, 24, and Irene Gower, 18, were killed Saturday in a car crash near Temple. Bernice Norman, 18, Billie Gower, sister of Irene, and J. D. Steagall, Jr., all received injuries.

The new mother is the former Miss Shirley King...Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harris, Jr., Walters, are parents of a daughter born September 18, who has been named Donna Sue...Howard Dyke returned to Norman this week to enroll in the graduate school of engineering physics. Dyke was granted a leave of absence from his work at the Pacific Missile Center at Point Mugu, Calif., where he has been employed for the past two years as a physicist...Miss Donna Sue Cooper, 1960 Sweetheart of the Walters Future Farmers of America chapter, will complete September 24 with over 100 other chapter Sweethearts for the statewide title.

Stauffer, of Walters...Loanna Gene Lorah and Gregory Lee Hilbert exchanged wedding vows Friday, September 19 in the First Baptist church in Walters. The bride is the daughter Alvenis Lee Jester, of Lawton, and Eugene Lorah, of Walters. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Hilbert, of Walters.

Roger Mack Norman, 16, was duck hunting with his younger brother, David, Monday. They were awaiting a flight of ducks when a 410-gauge shotgun with which David was hunting discharged. The path of the pellets went through a rubber heel on Roger’s right foot and lodged in the instep of his left foot. He was treated at Southwestern Hospital in Lawton. The boys are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Norman...Joe Knox, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Knox and husband of the former Delaine Spurlock, left yesterday for a two year tour of duty with the armed forces... Patsy June Simpson became the bride of Kenneth Don Carter Wednesday, December 19, in the Church of Christ in Temple. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Simpson, of Temple, while the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Carter, of Waurika...Miss Ada Roe Simms and Johnny Simon were united in mariage in the Catholic church in Walters on Saturday, December 29. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Simms, Temple, while the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Simon of Lawton....Miss Patricia Ann Prater, daughter of Mrs. Lois Woods, of Temple, became the bride of Bobby Sanders, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sanders, in the First Baptist church in Temple, Sunday, December 23.
