Bill Grimes was found guilty of murder of his father, George E. Grimes, by a district court jury at 10:35 Thursday night after deliberating eight hours and 35 minutes...Claud Neely, County Foreman for the State Highway Department since Nov. 1, 1950, will become construction superintendent for the eight counties of Division 7 on April 1. Stepping up to the position as county foreman April 1 will be E. E. Linderkamp, who has been a mechanic for the highway department since August 1951...At a special meeting of the Temple Board of Education, Tuesday night, Douglass Morris, for the past three years Vocational Agriculture instructor at Big Pasture school, was employed in a like capacity in the Temple school system...Mr. and Mrs. Coy Thomas, of Walters, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Alice Marie, to Kenneth Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Toad Jackson, also of Walters. Double ring vows will be exchanged by the couple at 7:30 p.m., April 2, at the New Salem Baptist Church.

A Temple couple lost a race with the stork Monday evening at 9:45 o’clock at a point six miles west of Temple on Highway 5. They were attempting to get to the Waurika hospital. Greg and Bekah Mercado have named their baby girl Aubrey Dawn. Grandparents are Bill and Ruth Seward of Waurika...Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Bowers announce the arrival of their son, Race Anthony, April 1. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Butch Bowers, all of Walters...Mr. and Mrs. Monte Bates announce the birth of a boy born March 30, and named Gregory Keith. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tripp, of Waurika, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bates, of Temple.

A son, who has been named Francis Emory, was born Saturday, June 21, to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Brown of Oskaloosa, Iowa. Mrs. Brown is the former Miss Delphia Ogilbee...Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lemons and daughter, Kay Sharon, of Los Angeles, Calif. came June 27 and Mrs. Margaret Nash, also of Los Angeles, came July 1 for a two weeks’ visit with the ladies’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Ogilbee.
