Don’t Sit the Hot Wire Fence!
Y’all ever sit down on an electric fence? Now, there’s a jolt for you. But I reckon it is nothing compared to goin’ to hell. There was a time when it seems like most everyone acknowledged there was a God, but there were some who chose not to follow Him. I remember visiting with a friend a few years back who was “lost” and he knew it. I’ve shared about him in one way or another before. He knew God was the Creator, and he knew that He sent Jesus to die for our sins and that He arose and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He knew but he refused to follow Jesus and make Him Lord of his life. So, I asked him why. He told me, “I loved my dad, and I know he went to hell; if hell was good enough for him then it is good enough for me.” As for as I know, he still feels that way today. I don’t think some people even begin to comprehend what hell is. I continue to pray for him. I would appreciate it if you would as well.
There are others who say they believe God doesn’t exist. They like to be called atheists. If they don’t believe there is a God, then why do they not want us to follow Him?
Others evidently know that God is real, but they don’t want to be reminded of it. They prefer to try to remove God from the public record and public square. They claim separation of church and state, which is a whole ‘nother topic for one of these articles.
Another problem is that there are churches that are finding it hard to stand on God’s word. The world’s viewpoint has caused the leadership of the church to want to water down the Truth of God’s word so they can be pleasing to more folks. They think nobody will come if they tell God’s truth. Well, why even get together if God isn’t welcome in the church! The church doesn’t come together to please the world, the church comes together to worship the Creator of the universe! Who is the church anyway—sinners saved by grace. Jesus loves me, He loves you. It’s His church!
Takin’ a stand for the truth of His word doesn’t ever seem to be a problem if it’s popular, but if others aren’t willing to also stand then it leaves some to suddenly realize how importance that stand really is.
The Word of God is alive! It is inspired of the Holy Spirit & it is Truth! But understand: truth ain’t what I say it is, truth is not what you say it is. Truth is what God says it is.
There are those who say the virgin birth didn’t happen. But without the virgin born Son of God there is no salvation. Without the cross, without the grave, without the resurrection, without Jesus preparing our place, without Him coming again on that white horse, salvation is not obtainable. Jesus didn’t come to offer up a compromise. He is the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life. There is no other way!
Some will say, “but others have their religion, don’t most of them have a way to heaven?” The answer is, “NO, they do not!”
John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (nasb) If you believe Jesus, you better believe that!
Jesus tells His followers we are to go tell others! And He will show us who, what, where, when, how, and why… not necessarily in any of that order. But we must first get off the hot wire before we can get others off the hot wire. Quit straddlin’ the fence, it may be hotter than you know. Go!
Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And y’all KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen
