I Send My Son!

What is Christmas really all about? Well, I reckon it can start off like this: It’s about a young

unmarried girl named Mary and her fiancé, a feller named Joseph, who were informed by an angel that she would give birth to a child even though she

angel that she would give birth to a child even though she is a virgin…

It’s about a young man named Joseph so in love with his betrothed Mary and so confident in

God’s faithfulness that he defies social customs and marries her anyway not just because of love

but out of obedience to God…

And it’s about an older relative of Mary named Elizabeth who had previously been considered

barren and too old to have children would soon give birth and name him John. And John would

prepare the way of the Lord…

It’s about a group of men known as magi from the Orient who would follow a star because they

knew it would lead them to a new king …

Sadly, it’s about a greedy, insecure ruler who kills all the male children in a village up to two

years old in order to protect his throne from this newborn King…

It’s about a group of shepherd boys working the night watch who go to witness an angelical

worship service …

And it is about a little Baby, born in a stable—as there was no room over at the inn, or the bed

and breakfast, who would give hope and a future to all who would follow Him!

It’s all about this baby Jesus, the Christ child, who being the very Son of God, was born and

lived a life here on this earth without sin. And He went to be nailed on a cross, not for anything

He did, but for what you and I have done! We are all sinners! Yet death had no hold on Jesus.

His birth is all about how prophecy came true. The Lord told us He would send His child and He

did! What a gift! What the birth of Christ means to a world without hope!

Isaiah 7:14: Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child

and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. This was written down over 700 years

before the birth of Christ

Isa 9:6-7: For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest

on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal

Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On

the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and

righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

Again, Isaiah had prophesied this over 700 years earlier and it’s all true!

Jesus was born, He lived, He died, and He rose again, that we may have life eternal! And, yes,

there will come a day when at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven

and on earth and under the earth. (Phil. 2:10)

Now understand, the stories about such as Santa Claus or Rudolph the most famous reindeer of

all are are touching, but they aren’t the reason. And lights and trees and decorations are cool!

And I like watching movies like The Miracle on 34 th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life.

Exchanging gifts and giving is an awesome thing to do. It is good to enjoy most all of what has

come to be represented at Christmas time!

But let there be no doubt, Jesus is what Christmas is all about. Remember to open up your Bible

to Luke 2 and share the story of His birth at Christmas time. God is good!

Choose Jesus, choose life and let your light shine! And find a Bible believin’ church where you

“fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’

for HIS HARVEST! Pray for the rain!
