Why Don’t You Give Up Your Bag of Burdens?

Have you ever really though what the word worry means? The definition of the word worry is this: Anxious or troubled about actual or potential problems. I say worry is a burlap bag full ofburdens. It is overflowing with “what ifs” and “how else’s .” What after all our dieting, we find that lettuce is fattening and chocolate isn’t? How will we pay for our children’s tuition to collage? What ifs and how wills is the burlap bag of worries. It is cumbersome, chunky, unattractive and scratchy. Irritating to carry and impossible to give away!

No one wants your worries. The truth is, you don’t want them either. No one has to remind you of the high cost of a case of anxiety, but I will anyway. You see, worry divides the mind. It splits our energy between today’s priorities and tomorrows problems. The result of this half — minded living!

Hebrews 4: 16 encourages us to boldly approach the throne of God and where we can receive mercy and in His grace find help. 4: 16 says: “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” You see, God will do the right thing at the right time, and what a difference that makes.

So give up you burdens. Turn them over to the Lord for He is better equipped to handle them than you are.
