There was a time when it seemed most everyone I encountered acknowledged there was a God.
I’ve told the story before about visiting with a friend who was “lost” and he knew it. He knew God was the Creator, and he knew that He sent Jesus to die for our sins and that He arose and ascended to the right hand of the Father. Yes, my friend knew, but he chose to refuse to follow Jesus and make Him Lord of his life.
As a friend, I had to ask him why. He told me, “Wes it’s like this: I loved my dad, and if hell was good enough for him then it is good enough for me, too.” As for as I know, he still feels that way today. I continue to pray for him. I would appreciate it if you would as well.
And then there are those who attempt to deny the existence of God. They believe it was just a random event that caused the earth and all its inhabitants to come into existence.
Others evidently know that God is real, but they don’t want to be reminded. They prefer to try to remove God from the public record and public square. They claim separation of church and state, which is not even in the Constitution.
And now, some churches are finding it difficult to take a stand on God’s word. They have a foot in the world and a foot in the church and they’re doin’ the splits. Stand fully in God’s
The Word of God is living! It’s alive! It is inspired of the Holy Spirit & it is Truth! It ain’t what I say it is, truth is not what you say it is. Truth comes from God and His word.
There are those who say the virgin birth didn’t happen. But I need to tell you that without the virgin born Son of God there is no salvation. Without the cross, without the grave, without the resurrection, without Jesus sitting at the right hand of the Father, without Him coming again on that white horse, salvation is not obtainable. Jesus didn’t come to offer up a compromise. He is the Way. Some will say, “but others have their religion, don’t most of them have a way to heaven?” The answer is, “NO, they do not!”
John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (nasb)
But we are living in a time when we, the church, fail to take a stand. It’s a mess! Sin is sin, give it over to the Lord! But they’re not allowing Jesus to be in control. It’s not just the church, if this country is going to survive, the family must take a stand for God. And the husband should lead his family in things spiritual.
We must put God first in all things and proceed with love just as God is love. God calls us to stand strong for Him. Allow God to lead. Allow the power of the Holy Spirit to be at work in your life, in your family, and in your land. We must be doers of the Word!
There are so many ways we come under attack from Satan, and yet we fail to read and/or follow God’s instruction. Abortion is murder. Marriage is to be between a man and a woman. Sex outside of marriage is adultery. The homosexual lifestyle is continual sin.
God loves us, and He has given us Ten Commandments. That’s a good place to start! That’s why the world is trying so hard to eliminate them from the public eye.
We must put God first! If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. (Luke 9:23, nasb)
On a basketball court, if one foot is out of bounds then the whole athlete is out. Put both feet in for Christ! Join Him!
Choose Jesus, choose life and let your light shine! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! Pray for the rain! Amen.
