Investment to Help 113 Families Become Homeowners
STILLWATER, OKLA., October 2, 2020 – The Trump Administration today announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $705,120 to assist families in rural Oklahoma become homeowners.
“We are happy to provide supplemental funding to these long-time partners with Rural Development. Many people dream of home ownership and these organizations guide them toward making their dream come true. We look forward to seeing the smiles on the faces of these new homeowners,” said Dr. Lee Denney USDA Rural Development Oklahoma State Director. “Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Perdue, USDA has been working tirelessly to be a strong partner to rural Oklahoma in building stronger and healthier communities, because we know when rural America thrives, all of America thrives.”
In rural Oklahoma, three organizations will receive Mutual Self-Help Housing Technical Assistance Grant funds to assist families through the process of financing and building their own home.
Deep Fork Community Action Foundation is receiving $275,500 supplemental funding to assist 38 families.
Tri County Indian Nation CDC is receiving $188,885 supplemental funding to assist 20 families.
Little Dixie Community Action Company is receiving $240,735 supplemental funding to assist 55 families.
USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
