L. T. Canary, basketball coach and elementary principal, was painfully injured when the automobile in which he was riding went out of control after hitting an iced spot on the highway near Lookeba. The auto spun around several times with the right door coming open, throwing Canary to the pavement. The auto, which was driven by L. W. Westfall, Temple superintendent, continued out of control into a bar ditch and was prevented from overturning only by the open door which served as a prop. Canary sustained severe contusions to his right leg which was also skinned. Westfall received a minor back injury.
