The Emerson Church house caught fire Sunday while prayer meeting was under way. The fire did not damage it very much. We are very thankful to the bus driver who stopped and told us about it. It was mighty handy that we caught some rain water which was sitting by the church house...Mr. and Mrs. Eskel Wright of the Pleasant Valley #205 Community, are the parents of a little girl born this week. She will be called Doris Jean...Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Anderson of the Pleasant Valley #205 Community, are parents of a baby girl born this week...Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bollinger have announced the arrival of a baby daughter born Monday, November 26, at their home in Walters. She has been named Dolores Jean.

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday, November 21 in the Home Garden Assembly Church in Tulsa between Jacqueline Sue Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Robinson, and Ralph Bizzell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bizzell, of Temple...Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Merriott will be honored at an open house reception at their home Sunday, December 6, in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. A native of Missouri, Mr. Merriott came to Oklahoma with his parents and resided in Medford for a few years before moving to Walters in 1902. Mrs. Merriott, a native of Mississippi, resided with her parents in Texas before moving to Walters in 1905. They were married in 1909 in Lawton...Mr. and Mrs. Tom Welch, of Walters, have chosen the name Tammy Dawn for their daughter born November 17...Mr. and Mrs. Jesse E. Daniel, east of Walters, were honored on their golden wedding anniversary November 22 when their children surprised them at a family reunion and dinner at the home of their son-inlaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Neel P. Sprouse...Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Moon, of Chickasha, announce the birth of a daughter, Jodie Shawn, born Wednesday, November 25.

Dr. F. E. Manatt has moved his office from the bank building to the new clinic building one block west of the Rexall Drug store...Pfc. Kenneth Dan Edwards, who is taking a 49-day furlough, arrived in Temple last Thursday to spend most of the time with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Edwards. Kenneth Dan is in the marines and spent almost a year in Japan and China. He thinks he will now be sent from Camp Pendleton, Calif. to Alaska...Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Michael of Temple Route 2, announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary Margaret, to Samuel T. Demro, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Demro of Dania, Florida. The bride served 15 months overseas in the Women’s Army Corps at Casablanca in North Africa. Mr. Demro was a lieutenant in the merchant marine.
