What’s God Worth?

The answer should be everything and all! HE IS! I’ve shared on this before and will likely do so again.

We put a price or value on everything we think we need…plus some other things we don’t need.

There are tv shows about valuing antique and often worthless items. There’s even one that takes place in a pawn shop in Vegas. Go figure. We like to try to get the best end of a deal. We figure it pays to know what stuff is worth.

But how many of you have ever stopped to figure how much God is worth. How much is He worth to you? Really? Trouble is many don’t value God very highly. Now, before you get out of sorts, think about it. How highly do we value God?

If we were to pull our ole’ dusty Bible down off the shelf we can open it up to the last book.

“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.” (Rev. 4:11 nasb)

Now, no matter how you feel ‘bout yourself, no matter what you are strugglin’ with, you need to know that you were created by and you are loved by God. In fact, He deeply loves you. God is love! He created you and me to so we could be loved!

We have all been through struggles, and some struggles have been a little tougher than others. But most of us can recall the difficulties like they were yesterday. Where was God? Was He by your side? I can tell you that God is always near. But if you don’t seek Him, or if you don’t even know Him then you likely won’t encounter Him. Least ways, not until you seek Him.

But how much is God worth to you? Are you ready to fix a value on His love? At times, we lose sight of God’s value in our lives. He should be our all, our everything; He should be first!

What about worship? What is it to worship God? Is it waving your hands are jumping up and down? Is it singing over and over forever? Is it candles and incense and being quiet and some sort of unusual humming? Most of you would indicate that’s not it at all.

The Bible says to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Break that all down and it is really something pretty awesome! We are to worship Him with everything we have. And He is to be first in all we do. I’m not here to tell you how to worship, but I think it is so important to do it!

You know, we can just sort of get lost in this ole’ world we live in with all of everything that’s going on. But only if and when we focus on God, can we truly begin to worship Him. An hour or two of your time once or twice a week likely don’t get it. It’s a start but worship is about personal relationship. You got to pay attention. That takes devotion and focus. You must get your focus over onto God, then you can begin to worship Him.

You have to pay attention and know where you are. If you are in the middle of a mess know that God can get you out, and you need to stay focused on Him and not your jumbled mess.

Know what’s going on. If I was to judge a class of steers, I better know and observe what’s going on. If I didn’t, I’d lose my credibility as one who can place a set of calves. Don’t lose your credibility as a worshipper. Know Christ!

When I worship, I place my focus on God. God knows who we really are.

Psalms 139:1, O LORD, You have searched me and known me. (nasb)

God loves you and He is interested in you. Don’t just show a casual interest in Him, give Him your all! God loves you!

Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And y’all KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen
