MAY 27, 2020-Pioneer reopened all of its Pioneer Telephone and Pioneer Cellular business office and store locations, Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

Pioneer joined the Keep Americans Connected Pledge on March 16 of this year and immediately suspended disconnects and late payment fees. As the situation progressed, in an effort to help distance learning applications, Pioneer made several additional decisions with regard to its customers and their services. Pioneer created an internet promotion to provide two months free service, remove hot spot restrictions for cellular customers, and waived data overage charges for all customers. In addition, Pioneer opened up the WiFi at all retail office locations to the public, to create free drive-up hot spots for customers without broadband connectivity.

Effective June 1, 2020, Pioneer will reinstate disconnects, late fees, and hot spot restrictions and will bill for data overages beginning with all bills dated June 1 or later.

The Get Connected Internet campaign will expire the end of this month and no longer be a valid promotion in June. Pioneer will, however, continue to offer the WiFi hot spots open to the public at all retail locations until further notice. In addition, Pioneer will send text messages to all cellular customers who have had data overages forgiven to provide them enough notice to change data usage prior to their June bill.

As previously stated, Pioneer is reopening all Pioneer Telephone and Pioneer Cellular Business Office and Store locations, on May 26, 2020, at which time all extended hours will be reinstated, and business will be conducted under the “new normal”.

In keeping with safety precautions for its customers, acrylic barriers have been installed and employees of Pioneer are instructed to adhere to the following:

• Consistently wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when facing the public and customers

• Continuous washing and sanitizing of hands after any exchange of items needed to conduct business with customers

• Frequent cleaning of workspaces and all equipment, including Demo or Display phones touched by customers

In staying with the guidelines set forth by Governor Stitt, Pioneer will observe and encourage social distancing measures with those entering their service locations.
