Lost and Found

Being like most guys out there, I don’t usually get lost, so I don’t ordinarily see a need to ask directions! But I don’t mind telling you, it’s not fun to not know where you are or where you’re headed. I would just keep telling myself I that I was just searching for something. No, I must admit, when you get to a place you thought you were headed, and there is nothing that resembles the place you are supposed to be --- You are lost my friend!!!

Anyhow, being a man, asking directions displays weakness. I am willing to ‘fess up to this. I don’t want to have to ask. I take pride in not having to ask where I am! I don’t even want no gps gadget telling me where to go in a half mile or even in fifty feet. After all, where is your sense of adventure? Just go find a road you’ve never been down and go down it. I’ve been told that I inherited that trait. Eventually, you will come to the end of the road or you will come to a place where you have to make another choice about which way to go. And you might even see something familiar.

Y’all know where I’m headed with this. Without Jesus, we are all lost, and He has made it so simple to follow Him, but we just won’t ask. Jesus desires for you to know and follow Him. And without Him, we are headed down the wrong road. But it must be your choice. It’s like taking your first step.

I see it like this: If you found out your young child had wandered off and got lost, and you figured out she was out somewhere where you couldn’t get to her but you could send her a message, what would you do? Remember, you can’t go to her. But if you could somehow get a message to her, and tell her what she needed to do to get home? Would you make that message simple or complicated? Of course, you would want to make it simple.

It’s like the feller who went and found a bull for their ranch. (I love this story) The trouble was, he had spent all but his last dime to purchase that bull. He needed to get him and the bull home. He goes down to telegraph office to send a message to his dad back at the ranch, but one word is a whole dime. He thought about it and finally decided to send the word “comfortable.” You might ask why “comfortable?” I’ll break it down for you. Come – for – ta – bull. He knew if he got word for dad to come get the bull that he would get to go home, too.

God, through His own Son, has made it simple.

Just admit that you have made a mess of your life. The Bible calls it sin. Since Adam and Eve, we’ve all sinned. Jesus, the Son of God, came to this earth (born of a virgin) without sin that whoever believes in Him (Jesus) will not perish but have eternal life in heaven. That’s awesome!!!

The Book says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, if you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you’ll be saved! ‘Cause it’s with the heart a person believes, being justified, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation! Praise the Lord and pass the taters!

If you hold this to be true and ask Him to be in charge of your life, hand the control of your life over to Him and He will guide you down the right road. Just follow Jesus! All you have to do is take that one step toward Him and you’ll find He is there and ready to take the reins!

Remember, there’s just one way, Christ Jesus! There’s folks who will wrongly tell you about other ways but Jesus said, …”I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6 nasb) It’s your choice to make. If one so chooses to not decide, then he has made his choice. Please choose His trail! You won’t be lost any more!

Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And y’all KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen!
