Mr. and Mrs. Hub Herron of the North Mt. View Community, are the parents of a baby boy born Sunday night... Mr. Ralph Hertzler of the Ahpeatone Community, left one day last week for Wichita, Kan., where he has been employed as a professional basketball player...The marriage of Mrs. Esther Elaine Baird of Waurika and J. B. Gentry of Walters, occurred in Waurika October 14. The bride is a former resident of Walters, having moved to Waurika several months ago. The groom has resided in Walters since 1918 and for the past 12 years has occupied the position as mail messenger for the local post office.

Rheu Nell Fudge, of Walters, junior student at Midwestern University, Wichita Falls, was crowned Homecoming Queen Friday night in a ceremony at the University auditorium. Charles Horton, Varsity Basketball player, escorted Miss Fudge...In the annual contest for queen and princesses for Veterans Day, Maxine Petty was chosen Queen over other high school aspirants, Kay Brown was named Junior High Princess and Pam Agler the Grade School Princess...Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith have chosen the name Kimberlie Ann for their daughter born November 4. Mrs. Smith is the former Miss Sylvia Collins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Collins, of Temple. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Max Phillips, of Walters...Daugherty-Henderson Hardware & Furniture are moving their store to 108 S. Broadway.

Cindy Klimek, of Big Pasture, and Patricia Bowles, of Temple, are her attendants...Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rhoads will be honored on their fiftieth wedding anniversary Saturday, November 24th, with an open house in their home in Randlett...Mr. and Mrs. Mike Williams, of Corum, announce the birth of a daughter, Amber LeAnn, October 26. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robertson, of Randlett...A marriage license was issued to Lloyd A. Cooper, 59, and Marie Mitchell, 57, both of Temple...Three Walters couples will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries in a joint reception Sunday, November 25, in the Cotton Electric Civic Room in Walters. Celebrating the event are Mr. and Mrs. Smith Green, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Reed and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence (Mike) Manuel. The three women are sisters. All six lived and were married in Frederick before moving to Walters in 1930. Smith Green and Effie Mae Akin were married November 17, 1929. John Reed and Angie Lee Akin were married January 1, 1930. The Temple Board of Education will sell at public auction to the highest bidder the old Stroud schoolhouse on February 18...Henry Spurlock has sold the Terminal Cafe to Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Belt, who took charge of the business yesterday...The work of reconstructing a modern front at the Rexall Store is now underway. The plans provide for removal of the northeast end of the building and having the entrance about ten feet back from the corner, which will permit easier access from all direction...A shower will be given Wednesday night, February 19, at Gregg Church for Mr. and Mrs. L. Wood Sims, whose home and household goods burned last Friday.
