Announcement has been made of the arrival of a baby daughter at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Minnich on August 10. She has been named Wyva Rheu...Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Phillips have announced the birth of a baby daughter, born Tuesday, August 14. She has been named Delores Colleen...Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Epp of the Pleasant Valley Community, have a nine pound boy, born Thursday...Miss Veva Crooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Crooks became the bride of Mr. Richard G. Thomas of Burkburnett, Texas, Sunday morning in the home of the bride’s parents in Walters.

Fire completely destroyed the residence occupied by Ben Gee, near the county and state highway department warehouses one night last week, and officers are conducting an investigation to determine if the loss was work of arsonists. The building burned quickly after an explosion. Gee said he was not at home at the time the fire occurred...Wedding vows were read Saturday, August 1, for Miss Rebecca Jane Davis and Robert Henry Berendzen, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon C. Davis. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Berendzen, all of Walters.

Terry Lee Simpson is the new Elementary School Principal at Walters. He comes to Walters from Lawton, where he had been teaching the last four years at Westwood Elementary school...Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday, July 28, in the First Baptist Church in Walters between Miss Diana Johnson and Glynn Gilbreath, Jr. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Johnson, of Walters. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glynn Gilbreath, Sr., of Blanchard...Lisa Gale Ringener and F. C. Calloway were united in marriage July 21, in the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ringener. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Callaway, of Lawton...The First National Bank of Temple announces the employment of Larry White as Vice-President. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Van White and graduated from Waurika High School. He has been employed by First Farmers Bank in Waurika for the past 3 1/2 years.

Cotton Graham bought the Lloyd Rumbaugh tavern Friday and took charge of the business this week. The new owner stated that he intends to install a cafe in the building... Rev. Leroy Simmons, new pastor of the Methodist Church, moved down from Carnegie last weekend. Rev. and Mrs. Simmons have two daughters, Gertrude Mae and Thelma Lee, the latter an eighth grade student. Gertrude is now Mrs. Lloyd Greeley of Carnegie, her marriage having taken place about a month ago.
