Jesus is Lord!

There are some folks who have a really misguided idea of Jesus and who He is!

Y’all remember the Ricky Bobby character; he certainly didn’t have a clue. I’ve referred to him a few times before as he is a good example. He preferred to pray to the baby Jesus, because it made him feel more comfortable. I believe he would have prayed to any lower case god if he thought it would help.

I have encountered a handful of folks that want to insist that Jesus doesn’t exist. And they don’t believe a thing about God and Creation or anything else from the Bible. Somehow stuff collided and bang, the earth came into existence. It’s all random, and mankind is just a random byproduct of that.

And there are others who consider that Jesus was an honest, moral man, a teacher, and a prophet. And they stress the “was” part. Though they consider Him honest, they choose not to believe He is the Son of God or the part about Jesus being the only way to heaven.

There are a lot of folks out there who are searching for Jesus, but for some reason they can’t latch onto the concept that Jesus Christ, being fully God, came to this earth to die on a cross for humans whom He created in His own image so that whoever would choose to follow Him, may have life.

In Jerusalem, on Palm Sunday, many celebrated with Him, they hailed him as Lord when he rode in on a donkey, but just a few days later many wanted to see Jesus die. “Crucify Him!”

In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

And the reply was, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”

Then Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you think I am?”

Peter answered Him, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

And then Jesus told Peter, “You are right, and upon this rock I will build My church!”

In the gospel of John, he gets right to the point starting in John 1:1 telling who Jesus is. Being one of the closest to Jesus of the twelve, John likely saw things in much the way Jesus saw them. And that’s how he recorded it. John was one of the Lord’s closest friends.

Starting with John 1:1 thru 5: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (nasb)

Jesus is the Word. From the beginning He was with God, and He is God. Nothing happened apart from Jesus. In Jesus is life, and the life (Jesus) is the Light of men. Jesus (The Light) shines in the darkness (sin). This darkness has no comprehension of such Light!

Yet, it’s amazing how many folks believe Jesus first came into being when He was born of a virgin. But we must understand that Jesus was there in the beginning! He did the creating!

On our own, we are not worthy to encounter a Holy God. Jesus came to this earth to pay the sin debt you and I could never pay. He did the saving!

That’s why today is a good day to start living for Jesus! Jesus, I know I’m a sinner. Please forgive me! I’ve made a mess of things and from now on I want to hand You the reins to my life. I thank you for giving your life that I may live! I love You, Lord!

God is good! Find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And y’all KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen
