Funeral Services for Joseph Aaron Rash, 93, Walters, OK were held at the Church of The Nazarene, Walters, Wednesday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Paul Metcalfe officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Joseph Aaron Rash was born to Joseph Edward and Elfie Pearl (Hoodenpyle) Rash on December 3, 1923 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Lawton on June 10, 2017 at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 7 days.

Kenneth A. “Andy” Powers

Funeral services for Kenneth A. “Andy” Powers, 74, Whitewright, TX will be at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with burial in the Temple Cemetery, Temple, OK.

Kenneth Andrew Powers Jr., “Andy,” was born on January 23, 1943, to Kenneth Andrew Sr. and Velva Jo (Kindsfather) Powers and died June 12, 2017 at his home in Whitewright, TX, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 20 days.

Andy grew up mostly in Walters, OK and attended Walters Schools, graduating from WHS in May of 1960. He then attended Weaver Airline Personnel School, receiving a diploma in May of 1961 in Airline Operations-Reservations. Andy joined the United States Airforce and was on active duty for 4 years from December 1961 to December 1965. He was in the United States Airforce Reserves for two more years, discharging in December of 1967.

Glen Hugh “Cotton” McCluskey was born east of Randlett, OK to Joe Mahal and Azzie Olivia (Moore) McCluskey on December 31, 1924 and departed this life in Lawton, OK on June 10, 2017 at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 10 days.

Glen grew up on a farm east of Randlett, OK and attended Riverland and Randlett schools through the 9th grade. The family then moved to Walters for a time and Glen finished his sophomore through senior years at WHS. In 1944 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country honorably in the Battle of Okinawa during WWII. He then returned home to Cotton County and began farming.

Alice Jean Fielding Farris

Alice Jean Fielding Farris was born May 31, 1944 and was called to her Heavenly Home on May 13, 2017.

Jean was born in Walters, OK to Clint and Lois (McMurtrey) Calfy. As an infant she lost her father while serving our Country. Jean attended Walters Public Schools when she met and later married Frank Fielding. To this union 4 children were born.

Jean was not only a homemaker, but also worked in factories in Temple, Duncan and Wichita Falls, TX for many years. She lived in various places before making Waurika Lake her home. After Frank passed away, she returned to Walters to be closer to her family.

Jean enjoyed her family, quilting, fishing and listening to friends and family play music, who would often persuade her to join in with her beautiful voice. She was very strong in her faith and never met a stranger. She felt truly blessed by so many who loved her and enjoyed having her sidekick Aliya by her side.

Todd Eric Stapp was born September10, 1968, in The Dalles, Oregon, to Billy and Donna (Anglemyer) Stapp and departed this life on June 2, 2017, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 48 years, 8 months and 23 days. He grew up in the Lagarto, TX, area. Came to Walters, OK, in 1984, and since 1985, he has made his home in the Waurika Lake area. Todd was loved by so many and will be missed by everyone. He spent most of his time fishing with his Mom, Dad and bubba Chris. Todd also enjoyed going to church, bowling, riding his 4-wheeler, his doodle bug Tiffani and spending time with his family. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and WWE Wrestling. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing blackjack.

Grace Lynn Swinford

Grace Lynn Swinford, was born on June 24, 1951 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Frazier Brown and Jessie Roberta (Wheeler) Harman and passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the age of 65. She was raised in Reydon, Oklahoma where she graduated high school in 1969. She continued her education at Aladdin Beauty School and worked many years in Cheyenne at Dovie’s Beauty Shop. She worked for DHIA and tested dairy cows from 1981-2000 where she met many lifelong friends. She started serving under Sheriff Joe Hay as a dispatcher for Roger Mills County from 2000-2012 where she retired. She was married to the love of her life on August 4, 1983 and they lived all of their married life in Hammon OK. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing slot machines, traveling to Graceland in Memphis, watching Thunder basketball, and spending countless hours supporting her grandchildren in various activities.

Billy John (Bill) Crow

Funeral Services for Billy John (Bill) Crow, 80, of Walters were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Geronimo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Vivian Garza officiating with Rev. Billy Fred Crow, Don Crow and Rev. John Cullison assisting. Burial was in Walters Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK.

Billy John Crow departed this life May 16, 2017, at his home near Walters. He was born January 21, 1937, northwest of Walters to Emery and Maudie Crow. Bill grew up in the Geronimo community where he attended and graduated from Geronimo Schools in 1955. He met the love of his life, Helen Bunch, in December 1955. They were married March 8, 1958, at First Baptist Church of Geronimo. They made their home south of Geronimo the entire 52 years of marriage. Helen passed away June 23, 2010.

Carolyn Sue (Dorman) Fento was born to Glen Evert and Dollie Marie (Melott) Dorman on November 29, 1962 at Pauls Valley, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on May 20, 2017 at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 21 days.
