In honor of the class of 1969’s 50th Class Reunion, Palmer Studios did a public work of art commemorating the wonderful memories of growing up in Walters, Oklahoma and fun times at Walters High School.

The project of doing the murial on the south side of the High School started Wednesday, June 26th. The work started with the back ground color being painted. Mr. Palmer then was out in the dark drawing the murial.

The theme of the mural is “Together......We Are Stronger”. It depicts varies hands and arms working in harmony together. One of the figures is wearing an athletic Blue Devil jacket driving hone not only the theme, but who should be involved – all of us as Blue Devils to make this world a better place.

Dr. Palmer taught art at Walters High School 1974 - 1975. Potter was his student when he was at WHS teaching, she took over the art department in 1980 and remained until her retirment in 2018.

Clint Thurman, Edwin Akoneto - Class of ‘69, Becca Potter, Harlin Mallow - Class of ‘75, Chloe Ulm Gardenia Rodriquez - Class of 2019 helped on the murial.

Dr. Palmer and everyone else enjoyed getting to visit with everyone that came by to chat.
