Graveside services for Richard Fryer, 70, Burkburnett, TX were held at the Walters Cemetery, Walters, OK, Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Richard LeRoy “Rick” Fryer was born on January 6, 1949 at El Reno, OK and departed this life in Burkburnett, TX on June 15, 2019 at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 9 days.

Rick was raised by his mother and grandmother, living in several towns in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana, attending both Lawton High and finally Hirschi High School in Wichita Falls. He married Sharon Greear DeWitt and to the union 2 sons were born, Ricky and Ronnie.

Through the years Rick has worked several jobs but his passion was for law enforcement. He has spent the last 28 years with the love of his life, Deborah Lee (Reddin) Menasco Fryer. He and Debbie made their home in Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas, settling in Burkburnett 8 years ago. He was a drummer in the band Southern Comfort as well as others. He loved riding his Harley, watching NASCAR, building a fire and watering the lawn. He was a founding member of Okie Sodbusters Metal Detecting Club.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jo (Fryer) Mathews; his grandmother, Dixie Cleo Fryer; brother, Bobby Ray “Buddy” Harris; and brother, Raymond Fryer, also known as “Uncle Bill.”

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Fryer of the home; 13 kids which include his sons and wives, Ricky Fryer and Rany of San Antonio, Ronnie Fryer and Mary of Randlett, OK, and Debbie’s 11 kids and spouses, Eric Menasco and Kerrie of Wichita Falls, Keith Menasco and Margie of Live Oak, FL, Julie Menasco and Marvin Menasco both of Wichita Falls April Story and Kelly of Holliday, TX, Joshua Menasco and Kim of Duncan, OK, John Menasco and Adrienne of Wichita Falls, Amy Nell and Jeremy of Abilene, TX, Rachael Smith and Jeremey of Iowa Park, TX, Chris Measco and Savanah of Electra, TX, and Jerry “JT” Menasco of Wichita Falls; his sister, Alma Overstreet of Wichita Falls and Rayean Mathews of Burburnett; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
