Walters Public School Food Pantry Food Drive~ Give from the Heart

On February 1 through 9, Walters High School and Middle School will be doing a food pantry drive.

Based on the observed needs of our students, we are putting together a pantry that will be on campus. Our elementary has a wonderful program that is sponsored by the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank that is for chronically hungry children: however, when they come to middle school or high school, that program is not available. We have seen a need and want to extend our hand in the best way we know how. Having a pantry on campus is a tangible and immediate way to intervene. If our students’ basic needs are not being met, then learning will be the last thing on their minds. It is our goal, and always has been, at Walters Public Schools to provide the best environment possible for children to learn. This is just one way to help bridge a gap.
