Memorial service for Ronald Leath, 74, of Lawton, was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Elgin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Sanmann, officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Elgin Funeral Home. Mr. Leath passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 74. Ronnie Ellis Leath was born March 4, 1941 to Rex and Ruby (Hull) Leath. He graduated from Walters High School. Ronnie worked for Sears & Roebuck and Bell Helicopter in Weatherford, Texas. He worked as a chef at his family’s restaurant, The Old Plantation. While living in Medicine Park, Ronnie served as a volunteer firefighter until he broke his back while coming back from fighting a fire in 1977. Ronnie is survived by 1 son, Rick Leath and his wife Jan of Edmond; 2 daughters: Cynthia King of Lawton and Debbie Coonrod of Texas; 1 stepdaughter, Jeanie Naragon of Medicine Park; 1 aunt, Wanda Cantu; 1 uncle, Buddy Hull; 13 grandchildren: Shawna Ernest, Becky Leath, Megan Clifton and Daniel, Virginia Ward, Ryan Leath and Brittany, Richie Leath, Charles Lindsey, Christopher Lindsey, Misty Lindsey, Camilla Johnson, Stephanie Cordier, Anthony Parker, and Kayla King; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rex and Ruby “Grandma” Leath and several aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Elgin Funeral Home, 410 W.
