Spirit runners kicked off the Comanche Nation Fair

LAWTON, Okla._The 24th Annual Comanche Nation Fair kicked off Wednesday in Lawton as the spirit runners carrying the tribe’s flag reached the fair’s powwow grounds. Runners came from Cache, Walters and Apache Admission to the Comanche Nation Fair was free, and it was open to everyone. This year’s fair featured plenty of food, and activities such as a carnival, bull riding, and a parade. The fair takes about a year to plan but organizers say it is well worth the wait. “It’s just a good way to give back to our community.
