Kathleen Jewel Henley Williams, 73, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 in Duncan, surround by her family. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ with Leonard Keele officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family visited with friends Monday, Sept. 21 at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Kathleen was born Jan. 11, 1942 in Walters, Oklahoma to Martha E. (Thomas) and James E. Henley. She married Buck Williams on June 20, 1986 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Kathleen earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma College for Women. She was an elementary school teacher with the Marlow Public Schools for 29 years. She was known as a natural teacher with the ability to encourage her students to formulate and express their own opinions while nurturing their individual development. Kathleen was named Marlow Public Schools Teacher of the Year in 1993 and she also retired that year. She was a member of Gleaners O.H.C.E. since 1993, holding all offices during this time and the County OHCE. She was also a member of Book Review since 2010. She served as a Stephens County Election Precinct Superintendent. She was a longtime active member of Chisholm Trail Church of Christ and was in charge of their Compassion Center Clothes Closet. Survivors include her husband, Buck Williams, of the home; children: Jon Scott Carlile of Azle, Texas, Rita Williams of Houston, Texas, Teri Williams Ashworth and husband William Ashworth of Edmond, Oklahoma, Angelika Kane of Pittsburgh, Penn.; four grandchildren: Michael David Carlile and Austin Dakota Carlile of Duncan, Parker Elizabeth Ashworth and Evan Gray Williams Ashworth of Edmond; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian Craig Carlile; brothers, Frank Henley, Miles Henley, Walter Henley, Elvis Henley, Robert “Bob” Henley and Bill Henley. Her grandchildren will serve as Honorary Bearers. Memorials may be made in her name to Chisholm Trail Church of Christ, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
