Curtis Hoover Moran, 86, of Greeley, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at Hospice of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. Curtis was born on August 16, 1928 in Coleman, Oklahoma to Alvah and Allie Jarrett. Curtis graduated from high school in Temple, Oklahoma and attended Lamar Junior College in Lamar, Colorado. He met his sweetheart, Loraine Beck, at the corner drug store, where she worked in Lamar. They married on August 8, 1949 and resided in Lamar until 1962, when they moved to Greeley. Curtis worked for Plateau Natural Gas while in Lamar and Greeley Gas (Atmos) in Greeley. He retired in 1997 after 25 years with Greeley Gas. He loved his family and God. He enjoyed fishing, camping, taking car trips and was an accomplished oil painter. Curtis is survived by his wife, Loraine; sister, Lucy Davis; brother, Alan Moran; sons, Lew (Teresa) and Curt (Suzi); daughters, Lori and Joy and grandchildren, Derek Moran, Adam Moran, Erin Moran and Evan Moran. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roy and sister, Mary. A Celebration of Life was at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
