Marlow: Phyllis Ann Duce’s faith became sight at age 77, Thursday, February 19, 2015 in Oklahoma City. Services were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 23, 2015, at the Duncan Heritage Oaks Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Bill Boles and Rev. Ron Deck officiating. Burial was in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Phyllis was born Tuesday, March 16, 1937 in Cookietown, to Samuel H. and Laura Nevada (Taylor) Turner. Phyllis graduated from Union Valley High School in 1955 and attended Midwestern University. On November 2, 1957, Phyllis married P. Hubert Duce at the First Methodist Church in Burkburnett, Texas. They made Marlow their home in 1970. Phyllis worked at Ft. Sill as a purchasing agent for 22 years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and gardening. Phyllis raised her children to serve the Lord and cherished the time she spent with her family. She loved to sing and play the piano, and played for her church and served in a number of capacities including teaching Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Toast Mistress Club and Heritage Oaks Church of the Nazarene in Duncan. Survivors include: husband, P. Hubert Duce of the home; son, S. Alan Duce and wife Jan of Davison, Michigan; daughter, Lori Stewart and husband Jeff of Miami; grandchildren, Daniel Duce and wife Anna, Joseph Duce, all of San Antonio, Texas, Laura Duce-Mosshart and husband Braden of Bethany, Sam Duce and wife Shelby of Oklahoma City, Rachel Stewart, Bekah Stewart, Sarah Stewart, all of Bethany; great-grandchild, Haddon Duce of San Antonio, Texas; daughter-in-law, Cindy Duce-Graf of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wheeler of Stillwater; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; son, P.H. (Sonny) Duce, Jr.; sister, Odell Karstetter and her husband John; brothers, James Turner and Sam H.
