Lewis Knight, a former resident and Vocational Agriculture teacher in Temple, Oklahoma from 1947-1960, passed away on October 24, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. His parents, Lewis and Pearl Knight (of Hastings, 
Oklahoma), and his wives, Aida and Geneva Knight, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Colonel (Ret) Ken and Brenda Knight, his granddaughter, Brandy, her husband, Marine Major 
Marco Serna, and their children, Ryan, Ava and Luke; and his step children, Diane Van Zandt, Jean Alsup and George and Franklin Harris. Mr. Knight was born on April 21, 1922 in Waurika, Oklahoma and was 93 years old. As a young man he lived on a farm on the Red River, and after a flood in the early 1930s, his family purchased a farm near Hastings. He attended high school in Temple (Class of 1939) and graduated from Oklahoma State University. Lewis had two great loves – his first wife Aida, to whom he was married for 55 years until her death in 1999 and Geneva, to whom he was married for 12 years until her passing in 2013. He was a high school Agriculture teacher for 39 years in Ada and Temple, Oklahoma and finished his career in Ralls, Texas, where he taught his last 25 years. He continued to live in Ralls after his retirement. Lewis was a WWII veteran and flew 50 combat missions as a Bombardier in B-17 bombers in North Africa and Italy. Lewis was a very successful Ag teacher and FFA Advisor, who taught, mentored and strongly influenced hundreds of young men and women. In 1997 the Ag building at Ralls High School was named in his honor. Lewis was in Lions Club for over 60 years and very involved with the Presbyterian Church in Temple, and later, the Ralls United Methodist Church. On November 18, 2014 Lewis was interred with full military honors at the National Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston, Texas along with his first wife, Aida.
