Blue Devils End Regular Season with Back-to-Back Wins

The Walters Varsity baseball team ended their 2024 regular season after defeating 7th ranked Navajo and (3A) Frederick and extended their record to 23 wins and 5 losses. The highly ranked Navajo Indians were 24-1 on the season prior to the contest in Walters. Both teams were strong defensively and ultimately, the Blue Devils prevailed in the 3-1 win. Lance Martin II pitched for the Blue Devils. The Junior pitcher threw a complete game, striking out 10 batters, allowing 6 hits, 1 run, and walking 3. Offensively, Gage Sansome and Cash Thomas provided offense with 2 hits each, while Maverick Cooke, Tucker Teakell, and Martin each had 1 hit. Sansome, Martin and Teakell were each credited with 1 RBI in the game.

Blue Devils Beat Velma-Alma With A Walkoff

The Blue Devils win the Semi-final matchup in the Jake Lefler Memorial Tournament at Velma in dramatic fashion on Friday April 12th. After a fierce back and forth contest between the two teams went into extra innings, Senior Jace Morgan hit a line drive to center field and scored both Maverick Cooke and John Fremin to win the game in the bottom of the 10th.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following 2024 Varsity Choir members. Friday, April 19, 2024, they traveled to OKC for STATE OSSAA Solo and Ensemble Contest after ranking first place in District competition in Lawton.

Big Pasture Varisty Rangers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Lane Tinsley tripled, McCullough singled, and Hayden Tinsley tripled, each scoring one run. Matao Laguna took the loss for Temple Varsity Tigers.

Dalton Taylor earned the win for Big Pasture Varsity Rangers. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking none. A Garlington took the loss for Grandfield. They went two and one-third innings, surrendering 11 runs (seven earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking nine,. Jace Adams collected the save.
