Walters High School/ Middle School Vocal Music, And Choir Sing At Tri-County Convention

The Dahlia Garden Clubs busy spring has kept us all jumping. We hosted the Southwest District of Oklahoma Garden Clubs Spring Convention, theme “Green and Growing”, at the Expo Center in Walters. Forty people registered for this event which included a full day from 9 to 3. The morning began with coffee and an assortment of doughnuts, provided by Daylight Doughnuts of Walters and other sweet treats. Attendees entering items they were asked to bring for the silent auction. More than 100 unique items were provided for the clubs fund raiser, which was a huge success.

Congratulations John Nease! Mr. Nease was selected Teacher of the Year Semi- Finalist. There are three awards given in SW OK and three given in Texas on behalf of the Red River Best Chevy Dealers. He was selected as the winner from our market/ region of over 450 nominations. The $1,000 award was given on behalf of Classic Lawton Chevrolet and Red River Best Chevy Dealers.

There may be no better way to start Mother’s Day than serving Mom some breakfast in bed. A homemade meal before Mom even gets out of bed can set the right tone for a day that celebrates all mothers have done and continue to do for their children.
